This Policies page outlines key expectations and school-wide standards at AppleSmart. By enrolling in our programs or using our website and services, you agree to follow the policies below. These policies exist to protect students, families, and teachers, and to ensure a respectful, safe, and effective learning experience.

AppleSmart reserves the right to update these policies at any time. The most current version will always be published on this website.

Respect & Conduct

Students and families must communicate respectfully. Disruptive, abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from class or termination of services (no refund in serious cases).

Attendance

Students are expected to attend classes on time and participate actively. AppleSmart is not responsible for learning gaps caused by absences, late arrivals, or lack of participation.

Homework & Learning Responsibilities

Homework may be assigned depending on the program. Students are expected to submit work on time and follow teacher instructions.

Academic Integrity

Cheating, plagiarism, or unauthorized AI use is not allowed. Violations may lead to warnings, resubmission, or termination (no refund in serious cases).

Communication & Privacy

Students and teachers must communicate only through AppleSmart-approved channels. Sharing personal contact information is not allowed.

Recordings & Learning Materials

Some classes may be recorded for educational purposes. AppleSmart learning materials are for enrolled students only and must not be shared or reposted.

Refunds & Transfers

Refund rules depend on program type:

  • 1:1 tutoring: unused sessions may be refundable with 1-week notice
  • Group classes: generally non-refundable once started; transfers may be requested in limited cases

Technology Requirements

Students must have stable internet and a suitable device. AppleSmart is not responsible for issues caused by the student’s technical setup.

Account Security

Login credentials and class access must not be shared. Unauthorized access or sharing may result in immediate removal from services.

Policy Enforcement

Serious or repeated violations may result in termination of access with no refund.

Account Deletion & Data Requests

Families may request account deletion or data removal. Some records may be retained for legal, financial, or operational reasons.

1) Respectful Learning Environment

AppleSmart is committed to maintaining a positive, supportive, and respectful environment for all learners.

Students and families must:

  • Communicate respectfully with teachers and staff
  • Avoid disruptive, abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behavior
  • Follow classroom rules and learning guidelines set by the teacher

If a student’s or parent/guardian’s conduct significantly interferes with teaching, learning quality, classroom safety, or the learning rights of others, AppleSmart may take appropriate action, including warnings, removal from a class session, suspension of access, or termination of services.

In serious cases, AppleSmart reserves the right to terminate enrollment and services without any refund of fees paid.


2) Attendance & Punctuality

Learning progress depends on consistency. Students are encouraged to attend sessions on time and participate actively.

If a student cannot attend a scheduled class, families should notify AppleSmart in advance whenever possible.

AppleSmart is not responsible for learning gaps caused by repeated absences, late arrivals, or lack of participation.


3) Homework & Academic Responsibilities

Homework may be assigned weekly depending on the program. Students are expected to:

  • Complete work honestly and independently
  • Submit assignments by the stated deadlines
  • Follow formatting and submission requirements

Teachers may provide feedback and grading based on the student’s work quality and completion.

Repeated failure to submit assignments may affect learning outcomes.


4) Academic Integrity

AppleSmart values honesty and fairness.

Students must not:

  • Copy answers from others
  • Use unauthorized tools or AI-generated responses where not permitted
  • Plagiarize any work

If academic dishonesty is identified, AppleSmart may require resubmission, issue a warning, or terminate enrollment depending on severity.

In serious cases, AppleSmart reserves the right to terminate course access or enrollment without any refund of fees paid.


5) Communication with Families

AppleSmart aims to keep communication clear and professional.

Families may contact AppleSmart for:

  • Program enrollment questions
  • Academic support inquiries
  • Schedule or attendance concerns

Teachers and staff may respond within a reasonable timeframe based on teaching schedules. AppleSmart reserves the right to limit communication channels or frequency in order to maintain operational efficiency and protect staff well-being.


6) Class Recordings & Learning Materials

Some classes may be recorded for educational purposes, including:

  • Student review and learning support
  • Internal quality improvement and teacher training (if applicable)

A) AppleSmart Original Content Ownership

All original content created and provided by AppleSmart, including but not limited to:

  • Class recordings and screen recordings
  • Teacher instructional audio/video explanations
  • AppleSmart-created lesson materials, worksheets, assessments, and assignments
  • Website content and original learning resources within AppleSmart platforms

is the intellectual property of AppleSmart and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

These materials are provided only to registered students and families for personal educational use during enrollment. They must not be copied, redistributed, republished, publicly posted, or reused for any commercial or non-commercial purpose without prior written permission from AppleSmart.

B) Third-Party Textbooks & Resources

AppleSmart may reference or utilize third-party textbooks, literary works, articles, videos, question banks, or educational resources strictly for instructional and educational purposes.

All third-party titles, trademarks, and copyrighted materials remain the property of their respective authors, publishers, or rights holders. AppleSmart does not claim ownership over third-party materials. Such materials are used under applicable licensing, permission, or fair use principles (where applicable) for teaching, commentary, and academic study.


7) Refunds, Transfers, and Class Changes

Refund eligibility depends on the program type and the conditions listed below.

A) One-on-One Tutoring (1:1)

If a student or parent/guardian is not satisfied with a one-on-one tutoring service and wishes to discontinue, families must provide at least one (1) week advance notice to AppleSmart.

With proper notice, AppleSmart may issue a refund for unused and uncompleted sessions. Completed sessions are non-refundable.

B) Group Classes

Once a group class has started, fees are non-refundable.

However, AppleSmart understands that family schedules may change. In certain situations:

  • Families may transfer their seat to another student at their own arrangement, provided that the new student meets course requirements and registration information is properly updated.
  • Families may also contact AppleSmart to request a transfer to another available class, subject to availability, level placement, and schedule compatibility.

AppleSmart reserves the right to approve or decline any transfer request in order to protect learning quality and classroom consistency.


8) Technology Requirements

Students must have access to:

  • A stable internet connection
  • A suitable device (laptop or tablet recommended)
  • Basic ability to use the learning platform (Zoom, LMS, etc.)

AppleSmart is not responsible for disruptions caused by technical issues on the student’s side.


9) Account Security & Classroom Access

AppleSmart respects student privacy and follows responsible data handling practices. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

Families must not:

  • Share login credentials with unauthorized users
  • Share course materials with non-registered users
  • Provide class access to non-enrolled individuals

Zoom classroom links, meeting IDs, and passwords must not be shared with anyone who is not officially registered in the course.

If unauthorized access, sharing, or account misuse is identified, AppleSmart may take immediate action, including removal of access, termination of enrollment, and further protective measures when necessary.


10) Marketplace Rules (Teacher-Created Courses)

AppleSmart provides a platform where approved teachers may create and offer courses. To maintain fairness, safety, and platform integrity:

  • Teachers must follow AppleSmart content and teaching standards
  • AppleSmart may review, approve, reject, suspend, or remove courses at its discretion
  • AppleSmart may update platform requirements, formatting rules, or course listing standards
  • AppleSmart is not responsible for student outcomes that depend on attendance, effort, or participation

AppleSmart reserves the right to restrict access, suspend selling privileges, or remove course listings if a teacher violates platform rules or creates content that harms the learning experience or AppleSmart’s reputation.


11) No Private Contact, No Direct Messaging (Student & Teacher Protection)

To protect students, families, teachers, and the AppleSmart learning environment, all communication must remain within AppleSmart-approved channels.

Students, families, and teachers must not exchange or request personal contact information including but not limited to:

  • Personal email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Social media accounts (Instagram, WeChat, WhatsApp, etc.)
  • Private tutoring arrangements outside AppleSmart
  • External meeting links not managed or approved by AppleSmart

AppleSmart may restrict or disable features that enable direct contact between students and teachers.

Any attempt to bypass AppleSmart’s official communication channels, redirect students off-platform, or exchange private contact information may result in immediate corrective action, including:

  • Removal from a class session
  • Suspension of course access
  • Termination of enrollment and/or teacher platform privileges
  • Permanent account restrictions where necessary

In serious cases, AppleSmart reserves the right to terminate enrollment and services without any refund of fees paid.


12) Policy Enforcement (No Refund)

AppleSmart reserves the right to enforce these policies at its discretion. Serious or repeated violations may result in:

  • Warnings
  • Removal from a class session
  • Suspension or termination of enrollment and services

If enrollment or services are terminated due to policy violations, AppleSmart does not provide refunds under any circumstances.


13) Account Deletion & Data Removal Requests

AppleSmart respects user privacy and will handle account deletion or personal data removal requests responsibly, in accordance with applicable legal and operational requirements.

A) Requests to Delete an Account

A parent/guardian (or eligible student) may request that their AppleSmart account be deleted. Once an account is deleted, the user may permanently lose access to:

  • Purchased courses and enrolled programs
  • Course progress and completion records
  • Assignment submissions and teacher feedback
  • Any downloadable learning materials linked to the account

B) Requests to Remove Personal Information

In some cases, AppleSmart may remove or anonymize certain personal information upon request. However, AppleSmart may be required to retain certain records for legal, administrative, or financial purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Transaction and payment records
  • Enrollment history
  • Tax-related documentation
  • Security and system logs

C) Processing Time

Account deletion or data removal requests may take time to process, depending on the nature of the request and the systems involved. AppleSmart will make reasonable efforts to process requests within a reasonable timeframe.

D) Limits and Exceptions

AppleSmart reserves the right to decline or limit deletion/removal requests where:

  • Retention is required by law
  • Retention is necessary for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or payment verification
  • Removing data would disrupt ongoing course delivery or academic record integrity
